Diwata Bose, MD

Diwata Bose MDDr. Diwata Bose is an expert in Women’s Health. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB GYN) and has a special interest in vulvovaginal conditions. She is also an assistant clinical professor in obstetrics and gynecology with the UCR School of Medicine and the Associate Program Director, OB GYN residency program.

Dr. Bose was in a private practice in Sonoma, CA, prior to coming to UCR Health. It was her desire to teach medical students and to be a part of a new medical school which drew her to UC Riverside. She began her path to UCR Health as an undergraduate at the University of the Philippines, where she also completed medical school and her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Then, she headed to Wisconsin where she completed her second residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Aurora-University of Wisconsin Medical Center.
Dr. Bose was impressed with the positive nature within the OB GYN field and the awesome responsibility that comes with sharing the transformational experience of birth and motherhood with her patients. “Every single birth I’ve attended reinforces everything that is hopeful and beautiful in this life. Obstetrics drew me in, but gynecology fascinated me. Complex women’s health issues, minimally invasive surgery and the often overlooked issues of vulvovaginal conditions brought out the technical feminist in me.” New patients with Dr. Bose can expect a full spectrum OB GYN services, with special attention to vulvovaginal conditions. On your first visit, she performs a comprehensive evaluation to give her a complete understanding of patients’ gynecologic concerns. Dr. Bose will discuss both short and long term treatment options so patients know what to expect and leave the office with a holistic understanding of their condition.

Dr. Bose feels her teaching opportunity brings so much to the community. “I identify with the UCR Health vision. I have always been service-oriented and believe in giving back to my community. It’s exhilarating to work among innovators in healthcare and medical education who share the commitment of providing quality healthcare to women we serve right here in their communities.”

Dr. Bose envisions multiple UCR Health locations serving as the hub of care for women in Riverside County. She aims to bring her expertise in minimally invasive surgery to patients, and believes all surgical procedures which can be completed with minimally invasive techniques, should be. Minimally invasive surgery often helps patients recover faster, with less time spent in the hospital. And lowers overall medical costs. She believes the success of women’s health services with UCR Health will come from the joint efforts of her colleagues who also believe in creating an environment where evidence-based medicine, collaborative care and excellence in teaching are at the forefront of their endeavors.
