Hospitalist Services

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the people you meet when you’ve been admitted to the hospital. Your care team may involve not only your primary care physician, but also specialists, nurses, phlebotomists, dietitians, social workers and other support staff. Ensuring this care is delivered in a seamless manner across the wide range of medical specialties is key to you getting the best outcome possible.
UCR Health hospitalists help ensure that everything is handled, even the small things, which in a hospital setting can escalate into significant patient issues. Our hospitalists are available to meet with patients and their families— at any time during an in-patient stay— to address concerns and answer questions. Our physicians work to ensure that any patient who is hospitalized has every need met, paying close attention to diagnoses, treatments and medical procedures while keeping in mind evidence-based ways to improve care. They can also help you safely transition from the hospital to your home or to another care facility.
Our hospitalists are physicians who are board certified in internal medicine, family practice or general pediatrics. Many have undergone additional training focused specifically on hospital medicine, receiving such acknowledgments as the American Board of Internal Medicine’s Recognition of Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine and the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Fellowship in Hospital Medicine.
