Dr. Jafri is Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at SOM UCR. She is board certified in Geriatrics and care of the elderly. She provides care to a range of elderly patients from health seniors to the frail and vulnerable elderly. She has an active, weekly practice at UCR Health Citrus Tower.
Special appointments for home visits, nursing home care can be made with her care team. Her focus areas are dementia, stroke and management of frail elderly still living alone.
What is Geriatric Medicine?
Geriatrics, or geriatric medicine,[1] is a specialty that focuses on health care of elderly people.[2] It aims to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults.[3] There is no set age at which patients may be under the care of a geriatrician, or geriatric physician, a physician who specializes in the care of elderly people.
