Hello, my UCR Health colleagues.
Since this is my inaugural message, I wanted to introduce myself. First, I’m Tim Collins, and I’m the new CEO. Yes, I have a vision for our organization (more in a bit), but my primary goal, especially right now, is to get to know you and our teams. It is important to me and our patients to learn from you how we can be better as an organization. How do I plan to do that? Well, the first way is to spend time with you. During my first week, I had the great fortune of visiting each of our clinics. I was able to go on rounds and interact with patients as well as medical personnel. It was wonderful to witness your dedication to our patients and each other first-hand. UCR Health doesn’t work without every one of us being involved in how we administer care and celebrate and champion one another’s contributions. What a perfect way to start my time here.
Now to the vision part of the message. Some of you have asked for my vision. My response is that we already have a great vision in place – to train the individuals who will transform how healthcare is provided in the Inland Empire and to improve access to healthcare services in Inland Empire so that patients who need care do not have to leave the market to receive it. I have already seen that you all are as passionate about this vision as I am. That’s why it’s important to me that the focus continues to be on our teams. That’s my ultimate vision – to engage all of you in this process and to open a dialogue on how we can grow our ability to deliver primary and specialty care services to improve the health of our communities.
The reality is that Inland Southern California continues growing by leaps and bounds. While we make strides to tackle physician shortages and challenges around access to care, I am confident in the collective talent and dedication of all care providers, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical assistants. Ultimately, UCR Health’s ability to serve the health needs of our population– with an emphasis on quality care and access – is crucial to our overall growth as an organization. It is my goal for us to become the most recognized and trusted source of compassionate healthcare in the Inland Empire, and I believe we can accomplish this together.
Our success in clinically improving access and health outcomes is within reach, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead of us.
