UCR Health appoints new CMO

UCR Health has named Dr. Andres Gonzalez as its new chief medical officer. Dr. Gonzalez comes to UC Riverside from the USC Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, where he served as chief of the Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Division and director of the Surgical Neurophysiology Program since 2007.
 
Gonzalez earned his medical degree from The Colombian School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and neurology residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He completed two neurophysiology fellowships with an emphasis in intraoperative neurophysiology at UCLA and Harvard Medical School.

“Dr. Gonzalez will provide unprecedented physician leadership skills in the CMO role and will focus his efforts on ensuring the highest quality of innovative care provided by UCR Health, the clinical enterprise of the physician faculty of the UCR School of Medicine,” said Dr. Donald Larsen, CEO of UCR Health. “I am very excited to have him join our UCR Health family.”

Gonzalez also holds a master of medical management degree from the USC Marshall School of Business. He has been honored as a fellow of the American Clinical Neurophysiological Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
