A Season of Gratitude and Service
As we enter November, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every member of the UCR Health team—our physicians, nurses, medical assistants, technologists, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff. Each of you plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to the communities we serve across the Inland Empire.
Last month, we came together for our employee engagement sessions. These conversations reminded me that the heart of UCR Health lies in our people—your dedication, your ideas, and your unwavering commitment to our patients and each other. Your feedback is shaping the next phase of our cultural and operational priorities, ensuring that our values of Collaboration, Compassion, Innovation, Excellence, and Respect continue to guide every decision we make.
This month, I also want to recognize several key observances that reflect our collective commitment to quality and excellence:
- Ultrasound Technologist Week (Oct. 6–10): Thank you to our technologists for the skill and precision you bring to every diagnostic moment.
 - Healthcare Quality Week (Oct. 20–24): Your dedication to improving outcomes and patient safety drives our mission forward.
 - Healthcare Compliance Week: As we wrap up this observance, I want to express appreciation to our compliance team for upholding the integrity and ethical standards that build patient trust.
 
These celebrations highlight our shared focus on quality, safety, and service—pillars of our organizational culture and central to our UCR Health Brand Promise. Every patient who walks through our doors should experience care that is:
- Personal Connection Every Time You Call: When you call our Patient Access Center, you’ll reach the right team member—someone ready and equipped to help you the first time.
 - Up-to-Date Provider Directory: Our website will always list every active UCR Health provider and reflect our expanding network across the region.
 - Your Care, Connected Through the Patient Portal: The UCR Health Patient Portal is your central hub for care. You’ll receive regular updates to help improve your health and have a secure, two-way connection with your care team.
 - Online Scheduling Made Easy: You can book your Primary Care appointments directly through the Epic portal on our website—no phone call required.
 - Prompt Access to Care: We’ll prioritize your urgent needs—offering an appointment within 5 days for Family Medicine, 11 days for Internal Medicine, or a same-day telehealth visit when needed.
 - Timely Follow-Up on Your Results: Questions about labs, test results, or pharmacy orders? You’ll receive a response within 48 hours.
 - Swift Rooming at Check-In: Once you arrive, you’ll be taken to an exam room within 10 minutes of check-in.
 - Efficient Visit Experience: Our goal is to complete your visit within 70 minutes—so you spend more time with your provider and less time waiting.
 - Proactive Preventive Care & Health Outreach – We’ll order your recommended health screenings and follow through on every one. If we identify a concern, we’ll reach out before you need to reach out to us.
 - Seamless In-Room Care: Once you’re in the exam room, a care team member will see you within 5 minutes.
 
As we continue to grow and refine our operations through the GMP rollout, these commitments will serve as benchmarks of excellence that define who we are—and who we aspire to be.
Finally, as Open Enrollment for UC benefits continues through November 21, I encourage you to review your options carefully and take advantage of the new UC Blue & Gold HMO network launching in 2026, which will expand access to coordinated care across the region.
