Personal Highlights
- What are the unique and different skills you have, as a doctor? I am a good listener and I'm interested in my patients' lives. My patients' most common feedback to me is that they feel cared for. I consider myself to be a life-long learner. I enjoy staying up-to-date on the current guidelines and recommendations. I find there are so many parts of one's life that impacts one's mental health and it's important to consider all of them when formulating a treatment plan. I like to encourage my patients to take a step back and look at all the pieces of their lives from a birds' eye view in order to more holistically assess their mental health. Every case needs to be considered individually, assessed carefully, and sometimes medications aren't the right fit. Psychoeducation is my most important tool. I also like to speak to my patients' families and have learned Spanish to do this.
- Outside of medicine, what do you like doing? One of the most important parts of my life is my dog, Genji. I love taking him on walks, runs, and hikes. One of my favorite hobbies is watercolor painting. Painting gives me a space to celebrate spontaneity, imperfection, and creativity.
