Dr. Sara Forouhar is a board-certified pediatrician with extensive experience in newborn and pediatric hospital medicine. She has served as a Pediatric Hospitalist and Assistant Professor with UCR Health since 2018, covering newborn and pediatric inpatient services, attending high-risk deliveries, and teaching residents and medical students through family-centered rounding. Prior to joining UCR Health, she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and, in 2022, achieved board certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Forouhar earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, completed her pediatric internship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she was named Intern of the Year, and completed her pediatric residency at Holtz Children's Hospital/University of Miami-Jackson Health System, where she received the University of Miami Teaching Excellence Award. She is committed to breastfeeding advocacy, resident education, and improving the pediatric patient experience through hands-on, family-centered care.

• Why did you choose your specialty and what are a few ways specialists in your field are making a difference in the world? Pediatricians are advocates for a vulnerable population who are often voiceless.
• Outside of medicine, what do you enjoy doing? I enjoy running, hot yoga, hiking skiing, traveling, learning new languages; currently in the process of learning French (current level: intermediate-advanced).
