Katherine Matushek, NP, creates a relaxed, judgment-free space where parents and teens feel comfortable bringing any concern to her. She takes time to listen closely to patients and families, easing parental stress through patient education and reassurance, and makes a point of speaking with teens one-on-one so they feel free to be completely honest about their health.

Katherine Matushek, NP, is a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who knew from a young age she wanted to work in pediatrics, inspired by her own childhood medical experiences. She grew up near Chicago and earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago before spending four years as an inpatient nurse at Lurie Children's Hospital. During COVID, she returned to school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, then spent two and a half years as an owner and provider at a small pediatric clinic in Park City, Utah. She recently moved with her husband and daughter to be closer to family. Katherine is passionate about educating and reassuring parents, creating a relaxed environment where patients and families feel comfortable, and speaking with teens privately so they feel free to be completely honest with her.

• Outside of medicine, what do you enjoy doing? I have a 15 month old daughter right now so she keeps me very busy! We also just moved to the desert so there is a lot of shopping and renovations happening. When we have time to relax my family and I love hiking and being outside, eating new food and exploring new places!
• Why did you choose your specialty? Pediatrics has always been my passion, even when I was a child myself. I think it is so important to be an advocate for young children and help them and their parents during a sometimes scary/stressful time.
