Dr. Ureste believes in building strong, supportive relationships with his patients, grounded in trust, compassion, and partnership. He works collaboratively to ensure each patient feels heard, respected, and empowered in their mental health journey.

Dr. Ureste was born in Riverside, CA, and grew up in the Inland Empire. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and then completed his General Adult Psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California. He received sub-specialized training in Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Ureste was faculty at UCSF for 7 years before joining UCR Health. Dr. Ureste is passionate about serving the Inland Empire community and providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care.

• Outside of medicine, what do you enjoy doing? I enjoy hiking, learning, watching movies, and exercising.
• Why did you choose your specialty, and what are a few ways specialists in your field are making a difference in the world? Emotions, thoughts, and feelings have a huge impact on one's quality of life. Dr. Ureste provides mental health care to individuals with severe mental illness with a patient-centered approach.
